Kristel Carrington, MD – Psychiatrist & Medical Director
I am a medical doctor, board certified in Psychiatry. I treat problems such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorders, ADHD, OCD, interpersonal problems, and substance use disorders.
I provide psychotherapy (talk therapy) and/or medication management when needed. My psychotherapeutic approach incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness practices, and psychodynamic principles. My goal is to create a space where you can feel safe expressing your feelings, thoughts, and needs. I will engage you in an exploration of your mind, body, behavior, and relationships. I want to help you enhance your self-awareness and learn to practice self compassion. Symptom relief is not the only goal. I hope to help you discover your best self, take steps toward change, and thrive.
Lindsay Tapia, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a diverse background in mental health care, emergency medicine, and substance use treatment. My clinical experience spans across outpatient settings, emergency rooms, and telehealth, allowing me to provide thorough psychiatric assessments, evidence-based treatment planning, and medication management for clients of all ages—from children to older adults.
My journey into mental health has been shaped by years of nursing experience in high-acuity settings, including the emergency department at the VA Medical Center. I’ve worked closely with individuals in crisis, developing a calm, compassionate, and efficient approach to care that prioritizes safety, dignity, and collaboration.
Now joining A New Hope Psychiatric Services, I’m honored to be part of a team that shares my values of accessibility, integrity, and whole-person care. I’m excited to contribute my skills and insight to a practice that emphasizes teamwork and innovation, and I look forward to helping individuals and families achieve meaningful progress in their mental health journey.
My approach is rooted in empathy and clinical precision, with a focus on fostering trust and long-term wellness. I’m committed to helping grow a supportive, collaborative environment at A New Hope—one where both patients and providers can thrive.
Sabrena Sukhoo, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over ten years of experience providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care. My background includes working in inpatient and outpatient settings, substance use treatment, and correctional environments, where I’ve had the privilege of supporting individuals through both acute crises and long-term recovery.
Throughout my career, I’ve developed a strong foundation in crisis intervention, medication management, and holistic care approaches. I also have experience with electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), utilization review, and coordinating care across levels of treatment, including intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization programs. My approach is rooted in empathy, clinical excellence, and a belief that every person deserves individualized, dignified care.
In addition to clinical practice, I serve as the founder and administrator of Sabrena’s Retirement Resort, where I oversee daily operations, compliance, and care planning across multiple residential facilities. Leadership in this space has strengthened my ability to integrate high-quality mental health care within broader systems of support.
My goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered in their healing journey. I’m committed to lifelong learning and to staying current with best practices that enhance outcomes and promote overall well-being.

Quadirria WyGant, LMHC
As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, I am dedicated to supporting individuals, couples, and families on their unique mental health journeys. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Central Florida and a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adams State University, along with a certification in Somatic Embodiment & Regulation Strategies.
My therapeutic approach is eclectic, blending evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Narrative Therapy with holistic methods that honor ancestral wisdom. I am passionate about decolonizing the therapeutic space and ensuring that mental health care is accessible to all.
I specialize in working with diverse populations, particularly those who hold marginalized identities, such as BIPOC and LGBTQIA2S+ folx. I believe in creating a safe and non judgmental environment where clients feel empowered to explore their healing. My treatment philosophy emphasizes the interconnected nature of mind, body, and spirit, guiding clients toward reclaiming their authentic selves and navigating their unique paths to wellness. Together, we can foster resilience and create meaningful change in your life.
Javan Linney, LMHC
I'm a licensed mental health counselor with a master’s degree in clinical psychology from the University of Central Florida, and I’m currently a doctoral candidate pursuing a PhD in clinical psychology. I’ve had the privilege of working across a wide range of settings—including residential, outpatient, inpatient hospital, and schools—supporting individuals from all walks of life. My clinical experience includes working with challenges such as substance use, anger, men’s issues, anxiety, depression, PTSD, behavioral disorders, sexual trauma, and parent-child reunification. I've also worked within prison systems, providing essential mental health support to justice-involved individuals.
Alongside my clinical work, I’ve contributed to research at Chapel Hill, Auburn, and USF, focusing on anxiety, trauma, racial identity, and body image. My approach to therapy blends psychodynamic principles with cognitive-behavioral (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) techniques, allowing me to tailor treatment plans to each individual’s unique needs. I place a strong emphasis on building rapport and fostering motivation, and I deeply believe that resilience is born from adversity—living by the philosophy that “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.”
I'm passionate about making mental health care more accessible, more human, and more impactful. My goal is always to leave people better than when they walked through the door. Looking ahead, I’m committed to advocating for healthcare reforms that treat mental health as a vital part of daily life, not just something we address in a crisis

M. Ryan Murphy MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC/Co-Owner
I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who earned my Bachelor of Arts and Science in Biology at Marymount University, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and a Master of Science in Nursing at Salisbury University, along with a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Degree from Maryville University. I have been in medicine since 2008, holding various roles, including student health insurance advocate, immunization advocate, medical scribe, certified nursing assistant, and registered nurse specializing in multi-system intensive care and rapid response teams. I also worked as a travel nurse, where I traveled to multiple hospitals along the east coast of the United States.
I hold a board certification from the American Nursing Credentialing Center, specializing in psychiatric mental health across the lifespan. My goal is to help clients create a safe space, enhance self-awareness, encourage empowerment, and work together to achieve their goals. I understand that while medicine can play an essential role in helping clients achieve full recovery, it is not always the sole answer. I believe that full recovery comes from collaboration with interdisciplinary professionals (therapists, counselors, etc.), family, friends, and, most importantly, the client to reach their objectives.
My favorite saying is, "Having mental health problems is like being stuck in the middle of the ocean drowning. The medicine helps you stay afloat, but it's the therapist that will help you get back to land."
