Pharmacogenetic testing analyzes certain genetic variations that may affect how your body metabolizes or responds to specific medications. This information may help your psychiatric provider make more informed medication-treatment decisions. GeneSight testing may be completed from the comfort of your home when appropriate.
GeneSight is a pharmacogenomic test (optional testing) that analyzes your DNA to pinpoint your ability to metabolize and process psychotropic drugs. Classes of medications include antidepressants, mood stabilizers, anti-anxiety medications, antipsychotics, and ADHD treatments.
Benefit
Pinpointing the safest treatment options translates to less side effects, improved efficacy, and stabilization of symptoms quicker without years of medication trial and error.
Cost
With most commercial insurance, the most you will pay is $330 (option for payment plan). Also, some may qualify for financial assistance with a copays as low as $0. Call to inquire.
